About the Item
A stunning and unusual modern hand-crafted glass scent bottle and stopper in cased colored glass by Layne Rowe (b. 1971) and probably dating from the latter 20th or early 21st century. The heavily made scent bottle is of rounded form standing on a narrow flat polished round base, The outer body is made from a deep purple, almost black glass applied over a white and green glass layer. The outer body is decorated with a pink glass coiled snake like application with slice cut designs to the body revealing the white and green cased glass. The scent bottle has a wand style stopper of long graduated round form of similar structure to the body with the top slice cut at an angle to reveal the coloured layers of the cased glass and with a narrow polished rounded end. Both the wand and scent bottle have incised Layne Rowe signatures.
Provenance: From the estate and collection of the late Jackie Mann, a respected member of the UK antique trade. Acquired from the UK Art Market
