About the Item

Pair of hand-painted porcelain shoes from Herend, made in the 1960s Ø cm 10 h cm 5 Herend porcelains are among the most prestigious and sought-after in the world. Made in Hungary since 1826, Herend is known for its exceptional quality, craftsmanship and unique design. Founded in 1826 by Vince Stingl in the village of Herend, Hungary, the manufactory quickly gained recognition for its exquisite porcelain creations. By the mid-19th century, Herend porcelain had gained international acclaim, receiving royal patronage from Queen Victoria and Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria. Herend porcelain is meticulously crafted using time-tested techniques passed down through generations of artisans. Each piece is handcrafted, hand-painted and enameled, ensuring a unique and beautiful piece of art. The factory uses a secret formula for its porcelain paste, resulting in a delicate but durable material. This manufacture features a wide variety of designs, from classic floral and geometric patterns to intricate figurative scenes and animal motifs. The manufacture also offers themed collections and special editions, ensuring that there is a piece for everyone. One of their most famous designs is the "Queen Victoria" pattern, created in 1851 after Queen Victoria commissioned a service decorated with butterflies and flowers.
