About the Item
This round, porcelain storage jar is brightly glazed in the classic blue-and-white manner with an allover pattern of botanical motifs. A combination of stenciled linework and hand-brushed shading, the lively design is centered around full peonies and lotus flowers, symbols of springtime and summer. Between these large flowers are various abstract florals and butterflies, densely filling the surrounding white field. The jar is finished with a geometric meander bordering the neck and a circular lid adorned with a lotus flower and leaves.
