Chinese Dark Glazed Kitchen Jar, c. 1900

$288

About

A thick dark glaze clings to the smooth surface of this petite jar, lingering on imperfections and accentuating the subtle ridges of its tapered form. Crafted in the late 19th century, the wide-mouth jar was once used to store food in a Qing-dynasty kitchen, as evidenced by its interior glaze. Contrasted by an unfinished lip, the irregular glaze exhibits a rich range of tonal color and pitted wear that gives the pot fantastic character. Additional dimensions: Diameter of opening 3.5"
