About the Item

This flower pot was made by the German porcelain manufacturer Fischer und Mieg, Pirkenhammer, around 1900 – 1910. The charming object is a two piece flower pot, consisting of a square plate and the planter. Two sides of the planter are each decorated with a gold framed medallion showing a romantic scene, decipting children showing Don Juan and on the other side Romeo and Juliet. The protagonists are dressed in historical costumes. The other two sides are decorated with ornaments. All the edges of the planter and the plate show bamboo sticks. Measurements approx.: height 7,48 in – 19 cm, width 8,27 in – 21 cm, depth 8,27 in – 21 cm. An early porcelain flower pot with extraordinary hand painted features. The special feature is not only the design but also the French labeling of the scenes - Pirkenhammer created this object for the French market - probably even for the World Exhibition in Paris.
