Jardiniere, Flowerpot, Manufacture Saint Cloud, ~1900, Ceramics/Majolika, France

About the Item

Masterly manufactured Jardiniere, of Ceramic/Majolica of the famous manufacture Saint Cloud in France. Made around 1900, this object is delightfully hand-painted in multi colour, with a central medallion, designed with rocailles and a chateau-ruin-view on display on both sides. Not only the medallions are interesting for the eye, but also the floral designs, which were not only carried out plastically, but also stand out with beautiful hand-painted details. The Jardiniere is not only a very colourful piece, but also a very interesting decorated one in relation of manufacturing - like the handels in bamboo shape. The body is masterfully openly worked, which makes it look fragile, but the perfect execution of the piece makes it stable. The Masters' mark is on the bottom of this outstanding piece. Measurements approx.: height 18 cm - 7 in, width 40 cm - 15,7 in, depth 17 cm - 6,6 in
