About the Item
A 1950's Italian blown Murano large flower vase by Dino Martens. The multi-color vase has a squared shape with rounded angles and silver leaf applications in the colored glass.
Corrado "Dino" Martens (1894 - 1970) was an Italian painter and glass designer. A graduate of the Accademia delle Belle Arti di Venezia, Martens exhibited his painting in the Venice Biennale between 1924 and 1930. His association with Aureliano Toso began in 1939 after finishing his military service in Africa. A bold designer who respected the traditional techniques of Murano glass, Martens was constantly challenging the glass artisans with his audacious creations.
