Large antique Awaji pottery Arts and Crafts vase in well balanced form with five cranes, three on the front, and two more on the reverse, circa 1920. The white cranes stand out in contrast to the beautifully rich green ground. Hand turned. The depiction of cranes is especially significant in Japanese art, symbolizing longevity, good fortune, and fidelity. 13 1/2" high, 8" diameter. Excellent condition.
