About the Item

Contemporary Grey Stoneware Ceramic Vessel by Rachel Peters, In Stock. This hand-built ceramic vessel is made from grey stoneware clay, with a thin application of white slip brushed on after the first firing and gently wiped back to reveal the surface texture. The result is a softly variegated finish that enhances the vessel’s quiet curves and sculptural silhouette. The form is broad and rounded, tapering gently to a narrow base and rising to a wide, slightly flared rim. Subtle shifts in tone across the unglazed surface offer depth and lightness, giving the piece an almost chalky, stone-like presence. Crafted slowly by hand using the coiling method, this vessel reflects Rachel Peters’ intuitive and material-led process. Minimal and contemplative, it holds space with softness, balance, and quiet authority. This piece is unglazed so is suitable for dry display only.

Scandinavian Modern Stoneware Vase attributed to Ewald Dahlskog for Bo Fajans
By Bo Fajans, Ewald Dahlskog
Located in Grythyttan, SE
This scandinavian modern stoneware vase attributed to Ewald Dahlskog for Bo Fajans is extremely elegant. It is labeled and deep stamped "Bo Fajans Sweden 1261," is most likely designed by Ewald Dahlskog between 1935 and 1951. It features a curved baluster shape, adorned with lines in relief that spiral diagonally upwards, adding a dynamic texture to its form. The vase is finished with a milky gray glaze, which gives it a sophisticated and timeless appearance. ABOUT Bo Fajans Bo Fajans, originally Bobergs Fajansfabrik AB, was a ceramic factory in Gävle active from 1874 to 1967. Founded by Erik Boberg, the factory initially produced utility goods but expanded to artistic earthenware under Gösta Boberg starting in 1910. From the 1920s, collaborations with designers like Gabriel Burmeister...
