About the Item
Superb French Art Nouveau ceramic with floral motifs.
Léon Elchinger (1871–1942) was an Alsatian ceramic artist from Soufflenheim. Trained in Germany and France, he developed an original technique of flamed and lustered stoneware, blending local tradition with Art Nouveau and Art Deco influences. A member of the Cercle de Saint-Léonard, he participated in numerous international exhibitions and created both decorative and religious works.
