Japanese Antique Paper Pasted Pottery / Flower Vase Tsubo / 1868-1912s Wabi-sabi

About the Item

This is an old Japanese big pottery. It was used in an old teahouse in the Tohoku region of Japan. It was used to transport and store tea leaves. Since "senbei" is written on the front, there is a possibility that the senbei was stored. The era seems to be around the Meiji period. The pottery is pasted so that Japanese paper overlaps, and persimmon juice is painted. Pasting Japanese paper has a moisture-proof effect, and persimmon juice also has an insect-proof effect. Japanese paper is also attached to the lid, and things can be placed on the lid. There are some peeling of paper, but there is a variety of beauty that weaves changes that are dirty and chipped over time. It can also be used as a flower vessel, but I think it can be decorated as an object as it is. Weight: 25kg We plan to pack it in a wooden frame and ship it. We will also estimate the shipping cost, so please feel free to contact us.
