About the Item
Extraordinary contemporary Japanese decorative porcelain vase, intricately hand painted in the artist's unique miniature technique on a elegantly shaped porcelain body in green, blue and red, with extremely intricate patterns and extensive use of gold, creating a beautiful palette with layers of transparent colors that can only be achieved by the old elaborate technique used in this piece. This piece is an exclusive signature masterpiece by highly acclaimed master porcelain artist and recipient of numerous awards for his exceptional porcelain work and unique gold and platinum work on porcelain.
This old technique that combines different elements of extremely intricate painting, with colors and depth that create a pallet that is flawlessly organic and makes the viewer wonder about the sequence of the artist’s work on this piece. The technique involves numerous challenges at different stages of painting as well as firing. For this reason and the enormous amount of time needed to create one piece, this technique is rarely used by today’s porcelain artists. The artist’s profile is available upon request.
Mythical Pheonix has long been adopted as the symbol of the impress. In Japanese mythology the Phoenix represents the female and it is often associated with the dragon representing the male, to create an auspicious union that symbolizes happiness, blessed marriage and also good luck.
The vase showcases a dense mosaic of extremely intricate patterns created by finely drawn lines of gold. This produces a stunning dream-like illusion of a “transparent” canvas on which a mesmerizing scene of phonixes appearing in flight, dramatically spreading their wings is described in extraordinary detail.
The stunning scalloped pattern appearing around the top of the vase showcases a dragon wrapping around the top of this unique piece.
This exceptional porcelain vase comes in a custom made wooden case signed by the artist.
