About the Item

Mesmerizing museum quality contemporary hand-glazed decorative porcelain vase, a masterpiece by master porcelain artist of the Arita-Imari region of Japan. The artist is a master of Yusai techniques involving the multiple layering of different glazes that fuse together in reduction firing to create haunting visions of depth and movement. The unpredictability of the resulting colors and patterns underscores the appeal of his creations. In addition to using precious metals such as gold and platinum to bring greater luminescence to his work, the artist has pioneered the application of ground zirconium to his carefully prepared glazes. In this extraordinary masterpiece of exceptional beauty, the artist has used a multiple layering of glazes to create an awe-inspiring vision of the galaxy in luminous green, blue and red with a band of mist. This magnificent piece attracts the viewer to get closer and look around it to capture the scene in its entirety. This exquisite hand-glazed porcelain vase comes in a custom made wooden case signed by the artist. Dimensions: H 12 in, D 13 in.
