About the Item
Extraordinary Japanese Contemporary museum-quality decorative porcelain vase with an exceptional story, stunningly hand-painted in vivid yellow, red and blue on an exquisitely shaped signature porcelain body, a signed masterpiece by highly acclaimed award-winning master porcelain artist in polychrome overglazed enamelling. This mesmerizing pattern was inspired by the story told by a survivor, that after Fukushima tsunami in Japan in 2011 the first flower to bloom was a sunflower.
The artist is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards for his extraordinary work and his unique contributions to this centuries old art. His profile is available upon request.
His unique style is a fascinating interpretation of polychrome overglazed enameling. He has a close relationship with nature creating unique landscapes on porcelain with flowers in vivid colors swaying with the wind. His painstaking “drip painting” technique is designed to bring a subtly raised feel to flowers, expressed in bold vibrant colors. The artist has perfected this technique to create porcelain with stunning colors and flowers coming to life.
The vase has dramatic luminous sunflowers in vivid yellow and foliage in vibrant blue and green with gold details that cover the entire surface set against an iron-red background representing sunset.
The stunning shape, the striking flowers, the vivid colors and the moving story behind it, make this magnificent vase a truly exceptional and memorable piece. It attracts the viewer to approach the vase to explore the details of this mesmerizing piece.
This breathtaking porcelain vase comes in a custom made wooden case signed by the artist.
