Large Brush McCoy USA Vase Number 177 Green Mottled Glaze

About the Item

Handsome very large Brush McCoy USA vase number 177 in a green mottled glaze which may be their green onyx. It is in wonderful vintage condition. There are a couple glaze chips on the bottom and a couple fleabite glaze chips on the rim. There is very light crazing to the glaze but is very hard to see. It is signed on the bottom 177 Brush U.S.A. and has its original Woolworth tag, circa 1930s-1960s Gorgeous and large Brush McCoy vase. This is pattern number 177 in a mottled green glaze. Which is most likely their glaze called green onyx. It has an unusual shape, footed with a tall and slender waisted body and bulbus bottom. But let’s talk about that glaze. Deep forest green mottled with beautiful sea green. It is marked and even has the original Woolworth price sticker! Although it is marked with the Brush name only, Brush pottery has been closely aligned with McCoy pottery since 1911. Brush was founded in1906 but burned shortly after and founder, George Brush, went to work for the J. W. McCoy Pottery Co. Subsequently, in 1911 the two potteries merged becoming Brush McCoy. Then, in 1925 the McCoy name was dropped. Production continued into the middle of 1982. You need this vase I know you do. Make it yours. Vase: Height – 11.5 inches Diameter – 6 inches Weight – 3.6 pounds Boxed size: Height – 15 inches Width – 10 inches Depth – 10 inches Weight – 8.6 pounds.
