"Leaves and Flowers," Spectacular Flaring Art Deco Vase in Charcoal and Rose

$3,200

About

Equal to the finest Art Deco vases produced in France in the 1930s, this flaring vase is covered in large flowers and leaves in charcoal and deep rose, all in the suffused, dripping glazes perfected by William Hentschel, the artist. Hentschel was one of the leading artists at the famed Rookwood Pottery in Cincinnati for years, before founding the Kenton Hills pottery in 1937. Important ceramic pieces from his Kenton Hills period are scarce and important, and this is the best example we have seen.
