Mid-Century Modern Porcelain Vase w/ 24k Yellow Gold Gilt Detail by Alka Kunst

About the Item

This refined Mid Century Modern porcelain vase was realized by the esteemed maker Alka Kunst in Germany circa 1960. It features a cylindrical body in white porcelain that flares subtly from its circular base then tapering to a round mouth. The exterior of the piece offers spherical detailing in 24kt gold gilt, consisting of orbital forms that descend in circumference from the midpoint in either direction speared through by a vertical line (also in yellow gold). With its beautiful attention to detail and clean modernist lines, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century to contemporary. While it is a perfectly functional vessel- ideal for storing flowers- it is also an objet d'art in its own right that promises to beautify any surface that it graces. It is in excellent vintage condition. Signed "Alka Kunst Alboth & Kaiser Bavaria" on the base. Germany, circa 1960 Dimensions: Height: 10" x Diameter: 4.5"
