By Malgorzata Bany
Located in Warsaw, PL
Contemporary white Jesmonite vase - stem vase by Malgorzata Bany
Drawing direct inspiration from the Japanese art of flower arrangement, ‘Ikebana’, the Stem Vase places emphasis on shape, line, form and the texture of the piece. By accentuating a single flower stem, this vase both celebrates the uniqueness of form and the relationship between nature and mankind. Due to the hand-cast manufacture of these pieces, there may be slight variation in the tone and finish of the Jesmonite.
Design: Malgorzata Bany

Hannah Simpson is a ceramic artist, based in Kent, UK. With a passion for creating unique items, Hannah's work continues to challenge the line between art and design.
Hannah graduated from Loughborough University in 2019 with a 1st Class Honours in Fine Art. During her time at university, Hannah opted to take part in an industrial placement year where she interned in Eindhoven, Netherlands for designer Nacho Carbonell. Whilst on this internship Hannah developed a passion for functional art work and began combining ideas from her knowledge of art and philosophy with design to create biomorphic sculptures that often resemble mystical creatures.
For the past year Hannah has continued to develop her work to combine functional design with fine art. Hannah’s work is inspired by religion, myth and instinctive thoughts, with particular focus on the relationship between order and chaos. She creates sculptures that change how a space is used, allowing the viewer to remove themselves from reality and instead be surrounded by surreal objects...

Large Glazed Greek Terracotta Vase
Located in Wormelow, Herefordshire
An impressive large Greek style vase, intricately crafted in terracotta and applied with a vibrant treacle glaze. Shaped like a trophy, this mid 19th century urn shares similarities with the marble vase attributed to prominent 2nd century Greek sculptor Sosibios in terms of shape and style, detailed with unique handles shaped like a swans neck. Unlike the Sosibios vase, the heart of this terracotta vase is largely plain showcasing the beautiful tone variation and lustre of the glaze. To the top, the vase is more intricate, detailed with a section of leaves and berries and stands on a socle carved with leaves to match the lower portion of the vase’s body. Thanks to its large scale and beautiful colour, this Greek style terracotta vase makes a striking statement piece placed on a pedestal or at the centre of a large sideboard...
