Pieter Groeneveldt Travertine White Crackle Asian Inspired 1960's Dutch Vase

About the Item

Pieter Groeneveldt produced ceramics in Holland for decades. Work produced by him and his studio was exhibited and won awards around the world. The Travertine "bark" effect that he developed in the 1960's provides an extraordinary contrast to the milky crackled glaze that drips and curls across the surface. Some studio pottery glaze effects are both extraordinary and typically elude photography. This is one of the nicest one might ever find. It is likely by Pieter personally due to scale, sophistication of glaze and a slight variation in the way the P is formed and with the absence of decorator initials. This will fit in any mid century modern, 1960's 1970's or Brutalist interior as well as advanced ceramic and ceramic sculpture collections.
