Rare Japanese antique pottery jar/beautiful natural glaze/wall hanging vase

About the Item

If you want something special, we recommend purchasing items selected by Brood. We sell carefully selected old Japanese items. I've seen tens of thousands of items so far. Based on that experience, only selected items are posted here. We are able to do this because of our long experience. There may be items on the 1stdibs site that look and feel the same, but the items selected by Brood are unique. Sue pottery is called "sueki" in Japanese. Earthenware that was baked at low temperatures is now being baked at high temperatures due to the development of kiln technology. It is a light gray pottery. Born in Osaka, "sueki" is gradually being made in various parts of Japan. This is called "sage be" in Japan, and it is not known in detail what it was used for. It has a round shape, two semi-circular rings on the shoulder, and a trumpet-like mouth. It is believed that it was used by hanging a string through the ring. This is a shape that was made in Kansai around the 6th century, but since it was excavated in the Kanto region, the era is later, so I think it is an item around the 9th century. A similar pot was published in an art book, so I will post an image. And this item is specially awesome. It is in very good condition and has no scratches. It is thought that it was miraculously excavated in a well-preserved When fired in the kiln, a natural glaze pours down to the shoulders, giving this vase a beautiful appearance. Depending on the condition of the flames, some parts may turn black, but this is also a beautiful sight. Sue ware is very popular in Japan as well, and the items listed here are the most highly rated and fetch high prices. If you like it, please consider purchasing it. A ring made of straw and a special storage wooden box are included. I filled it halfway with water and it didn't leak. It can be used as a flower vase. Also, I want many people to know the goodness of antiques, so I set the price reasonably. Highly recommended item. Weight: 1.3kg
