Rare and Large Dutch Delft Dragons Three Piece Garniture Vases Set, Early 18th C

A rare and large Dutch Delft garniture of two side and one middle vase, decorated with dragons. Origin: Delft, The Netherlands Date: 1700 - 1750 Workshop: possibly De Griesche A (The Greek A) A unusual and large three piece garniture with the decoration of dragons on a ground of vines. The middle vases is painted with four dragons and the two side vases both have two dragon, with chrysanthemums inbetween the dragons. Wonderful fine decoration inspired on the Chinese Kangxi porcelain. De rim is decorated with cartouches with peaches. Side vases: Height: 35cm Diameter base: 14,3cm Diameter top: 19cm Lidded vase: Height: 47cm Largest diameter: 22cm.

  • Condition
    Repaired: The top of the lid of the centerpiece has been glued. Also, a small chip of one side vase is glued back. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Both two side vases have a small chip, which is quite normal with garnitures from this period. Also, one side vase shows some hairlines, but they are only superficial.
