One can claim that their unique take on mid-century modern design still has a contemporary feeling, suitable for any type of interior design and decor.

Their fame would not be possible without Börne Augustsson and Bo Borgström, who were the leading designers at this company and helped develop a unique and distinct design. They quickly developed a unique style of art and design glass with high quality. Which rapidly became used in various types of interior design. Yet in the beginning the production was mainly focusing in tableware glass, but soon it only include art, design and decorative glass vases and other glass art objects usually in various strong colors. Since the beginning of the 60's, the artist and designer Bo Borgström has been associated with the company and his work and design have given “Åsedaglaset” (the Aseda-glass) its own exclusive and prestigious design and style. Usually robust shapes and bold colors. Due to his skills, a substantial part of their production were sales abroad both in Europe, North America and Australia. Thus, has Åseda glass become well known all over the world and is now held very high both when it comes to design and quality. Their signum was daring colors and variation of modern design meeting old traditional ways of shaping their glass, often noticeable in their fantastic vases, which is today holds high statues in the retro and vintage market.
The origin of Åseda glass.
The glass mill was formed on 29 June 1946 and registered as Åseda Glasbruks AB on 14 March 1947. Following persons held senior positions and was in charge over the designers and production; The goldsmith Erik F Olsson Nybro, the manager Elving Konradsson Alsterfors. With the employment of some interesting glass designer such as Börne Augustsson the company reinvented itself. Börne saw the potential in producing exciting objects for interior design and decoration. His glass often had an organic shape which became very sought after, and his work is still highly valued.
