Exceptionally rare silver overlay vase by Alvin Mfg Co. of Providence Rhode Island from the late 19th century. This vase is a tour de force of Art Nouveau silver work on glass. The intricate sterling floral base design is overlaid onto the emerald green glass and is finely etched and detailed. Then, above these swirling Art Nouveau florals which wrap around the vase, are vines sprouting three dimensional blown out poppies throughout.
