About the Item

Swedish Grace Ceramic Handle Vase, Argenta collection from the prominent Swedish Gustavsberg company, 1930s-1940s Sweden This beautiful Swedish Grace vase in turquoise ceramics with silver details was manufactured by prominent Swedish Gustavsberg company during the Swedish Grace era (starting in the interwar era). It is decorated with an elegant scale like pattern. The period saw a renewed interest in a stylized and refined classical form, but rendered in modern materials and with an elegant modern approach. This is visible in the shape of the handle vase, resembling a Greek amphora, only updated for modern sensibilities. This piece was part of the Gustavsberg collection Argenta and designed by Gustavsbergs arttistic director Wilhelm Kåge (1889-1960) Wear consistent with age and use. Marked with Gustavsberg and Argenta collection on the bottom of the vase
