Vase Vessel Majolica Damask Renaissance Black Yellow Hand Painted Italy Deruta

About the Item

Majolica vase with a black background decorated in golden yellow. the vase is formed by a very slender body and a flared neck ending with a rather everted edge: it is handmade and hand-painted in Italy, following the original Renaissance painting technique. The pure line of the vase is embellished with a rich decoration deriving from the Deruta tradition: the body of the refined artefact shows naturalistic decorations arranged in specular symmetry, giving rise to elegant decorative motifs characterized by racemes and golden yellow lilies that stand out against a black background. In the decorative band around the neck, modular ornamental motifs are represented, colored with delicate shades of golden yellow shaded with cerium white. The profile of the edge and the base, in golden yellow, adds a touch of elegance to the vase. COLORS: black, golden yellow, cerium oxide. DIMENSIONS: height: 51 cm (20.08 in.), diameter: 26 cm (10.24 in.) The beauty of a deBlona majolica is determined by the ancient process, unchanged over time and handmade, which we observe to the letter in the creation of our artworks: painting ceramics is a very complex, fascinating and insidious art, but it is precisely the human and imperfect sign that makes every piece so characteristic and totally unique. deBlona's essence is represented by the interpretation of the color and by an unrepeatable taste, with which we want to give new chromatic emotions. Majolica accompanies the history of mankind, telling its existence for centuries: here, in our Atelier, we want to keep on narrating our time.
