About the Item

This sculptural ceramic ashtray was produced in Italy in the 1970s by Porcellane Laveno, a renowned maker known for its refined glazes and experimental forms. The piece features a softly squared silhouette with rounded edges and an organic surface, finished in a deep oxblood glaze with subtle iridescent and metallic undertones that shift in the light. Marked on the underside with the Porcellane Laveno signature and monogram, this ashtray reflects the studio’s postmodern sensibility and focus on rich, tactile finishes. The base shows some areas where the glaze was intentionally left off during firing, a common technique in studio ceramics to prevent sticking during kiln firing. In excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The glazed surface is smooth and lustrous, with gentle wear consistent with age. A functional ashtray or decorative catchall, this piece adds texture and character to any tabletop or shelving display. Explore our curated selection for more exceptional pieces. Each order is meticulously packed and shipped within 24–48 hours to ensure a secure and timely delivery.
