Creations of André Ricard, Catalan designer, for Spanish company Flamegas S.A. "OSLO" ashtray and cigarette holder plus a "MENHIR" wood lighter. Elegant and masculine smoking set of wood and stainless steel materials from 1967.
On the bottom with metal plaque: ASHTRAY & CIGARETTE HOLDER - "OSLO" - Flamagas S.A. -Barna Made in Spain - Designed A. Ricard / LIGHTER - Flaminaire - "MENHIR" - Desig, A. Ricard - Flamagas S.A. - Barna, Made in Spain - Pen. Rgo.
Measurements: MENHIR - 6 1/4 inches high x 2 1/4 inches diameter / OSLO ashtray - 3 inches high x 2 inches diameter/ OSLO cigarette holder - 4 1/4 inches high x 2 3/8 inches diameter.
Condition: OSLO ashtray - excellent / OSLO holder - stain on inside / MENHIR - top edge flea bites & small indent on side. Lighter seems to work, unable to find where to refill, Please look at all images.
André Ricard (1929- 2017) born in Barcelona, Catalonia was prolific industrial designer. Ricard designs focus was on lighting and household products. He gather worldwide fame by designing the torch for the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics and the Olympic Cauldrum at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. Since 1963, Ricard created packing designs for Antonio Puig Perfumes, the best known the iconic green bottle of Agua Brava men's cologne.
