RARE Nude Smoking Women w/ Temptation Devil Figurative Ashtray w/ Lighter
About the Item
This 1920s white metal table lighter and ashtray features a Devil/Satyr bust above a smoking nymph with her bare breasts exposed capturing the story of temptation in the garden of Eden, replacing an apple with a cigarette. Fashioned in an Art Deco form with Art Nouveau touches the set features a mix of organic scrolling and geometric shapes. The Devil's mischievous expression and the nymph's serene elegance show some of the changing attitudes towards women smoking in the 1920s.
