Antique German Silver Hound Dog Stirrup Cup

About the Item

German 800 silver stirrup cup, ca 1930. Cast dog head in form of floppy-eared hound with jowly, upturned snout, and glass yellow eyes with dazed pinpoint pupils. Bowl has straight sides with butler finish and engraved band: Curvilinear strapwork and leafing scrollwork. On front Classical head; on back shaded interlaced monogram in heraldic shield. Gilt-washed interior. Marked. Heavy weight: 10.5 troy ounces.
