About
An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver wine goblets; an addition to our range of wine and drink related silverware.
These exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver wine goblets have a plain circular bell shaped form onto a waisted pedestal, to a circular spreading foot.
The surface of each vessel is embellished with impressive engine turned decoration, incorporating a circular cartouche to one side.
Each cartouche bears the bright cut engraved crest depicting out of a coronet a dove's head with a worm in its beak.
The upper rims are encompassed with applied moulded decorated borders.
The circular tapering pedestal of each goblet features a continuation of engine turned decoration; one pedestal detaches with a screw fitment, the other piece is solid.
Condition
These antique sterling silver goblets are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The engine turned decoration and bright cut engraved crests are very crisp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each goblet and part hallmarks to underside of the detachable pedestal are all very clear.
