English Victorian Sterling Silver & Glass Novelty Duck Decanter, 1895

About the Item

Victorian novelty decanter. Made by Cornelius Saunders & Frank Shepherd in Birmingham in 1895. Purple glass ovoid body with clear tubular tucked-under wings forming handle. Cylindrical neck with sterling silver collar and hinged head. A funny drinking companion with glass bead eyes and long bill spout. Silver fully marked including retailer’s stamp (Thornhill) and design no. 187826, which was registered in 1892.
