French Hand Blown Demijohn Glass Bottle and Gilt with "Vacqueyras" Crest

About the Item

Store your wine corks in this Classic French wine bottle! Hand blown in France, this tall glass bottle features a hand painted gilt family crest with the following word " Vacqueyras" underneath. Demijohn bottles have a wide, round body and a small mouth and are used for storing wine and spirits. These bottles have been in existence throughout the world for over 300 years, but today they can be used as decorative accessory in the home or even made into a table lamp. The bottle is in excellent condition with an elegant, and colorful rounded shape. Vacqueyras is a French wine Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) in the southern Rhône wine region of France, along the banks of the River Ouvèze. Being a little brother of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and, arguably, Gigondas, the wine is moderately prestigious and can yield pleasing results when treated correctly. Vacqueyras is known for producing full-bodied, rich, and concentrated red wines, as well as some white and rosé wines, with flavors of dark fruits, spice, herbs, and sometimes earthy or gamey notes.
