About the Item

Large Modern glass and sterling cocktail shaker with six cups. Made by Hawkes in Corning, New York, ca 1925. Shaker has tall and tapering glass bowl. Sterling silver neck collar and domed cover with built-in strainer and snug-fitting spout cap. Cups have curved conical bowl on round and curved base. All pieces have acid-etched flying duck flushed from its nest among the cattails. At top beaded band. Shaker glass has maker’s stamp; sterling silver marked “Hawkes / Sterling”. Dimensions: Shaker: H 13 x D 4 1/2 in. Glass: H 2 3/4 x D 3 in.
