About the Item

A very fine George III Fluted bowl made in London in 1777 by Robert Hennell. The Bowl was most probably used to serve exotic chilled fruits and grapes and stands on an applied ring foot. The slightly baluster sides are fluted into panels and rise to an everted rim. The top edge is beautifully shaped with a wave design. This piece is of the finest quality, is of a very good weight and gauge, and is in excellent condition. It is fully marked in the foot. Robert Hennell was a vert fine, and prolific, silversmith part of the famous Hennell dynasty of silversmiths. Additional information: Height: 2.7 inches, 6.75 cm. Diameter at the rim: 5.75 inches, 14.38 cm.
