About the Item
Large Moser crystal bowl with gold edging.
A refined crystal container, the base is ground with a knurled overlying band.
The rim has a thick raised band with 24-karat gold splendid series decoration,
The bowl is attributed to the Moser manufacture.
No engravings or marks are present, probably due to the production date being placed before the 1950s, a period when they were still not signed.
The Moser manufacture was founded in 1857 by Ludwig Moser, and from a small glass atelier quickly grew into a large company with over 400 workers.
Moser crystal is a typical Bohemian crystal, which does not use lead but calcium and potassium, making it lighter and less reflective, but more carvable and easily decorated with gold.
The use of gold as decoration is what most distinguishes all Moser production.
The bowl is in excellent state of preservation, no cracks or defects of any kind, may show a slight patina of time.
