About the Item

Porcellana Ginori in Doccia was one of the most prestigious porcelain manufacturers in Europe. It was established at the behest of Marquis Carlo Ginori in 1737, in a villa he owned in Doccia (now incorporated into Sesto Fiorentino). Carlo Ginori's descendants would continue to own and manage it until 1896, when the merger with the Richard Ceramics Company of Milan took place. The Ginori manufactory began its activities in 1737 in Doccia, a town a few kilometers from the ancient village of Sesto Fiorentino,[N 1] in the villa that Marquis Carlo Ginori purchased earlier that year from Senator Francesco Buondelmonti (1689 - 1774) adjoining his family's ancestral villa. In July 1737 a first firing came out of the kilns of the manufactory; overseeing it was the Roman kiln worker Francesco Leonelli, who left Doccia between August and October 1738.  The price of shipping is for the Italian territory, for the islands and for shipping abroad quote on request. Customs expenses are to be paid by the recipient.
