Antique 1900s French Silver Bowl

About the Item

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique French silver bowl; an addition to our presentation silverware collection. This exceptional antique French silver bowl has a circular rounded form onto a cylindrical shaped swept pedestal and circular domed, rounded foot. The body of this bowl embellished with impressive embossed scale motifs accented with impressive drop designs to each incurve, in addition to chased diagonal textures. This antique silver decorative bowl is supported by a cylindrical convex fluted pedestal. The impressive circular domed foot is encompassed with bands of chased scrolling leaf and lozenge motifs to the collet rim. Condition This antique silver decorative bowl is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The chased and embossed decoration is very sharp. The French hallmarks to the surface of the bowl are all very clear. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Chinese Export Silver bowl; an addition to our Asian silverware collection. This exceptional Chinese Export Silver bowl has a plain circular form onto a plain circular swept, spreading foot. The body of this antique Asian silver bowl is embellished with chased traditional oriental chrysanthemum floral and foliate designs, all on a matte background. The decoration to the body incorporates a large shield shaped vacant cartouche to one side. The upper portion of this impressive bowl is encircled with a plain applied moulded border to the incurved shaped rim. The hallmarks struck to the underside of the bowl include: Origin mark: Shanghai (??) Maker's mark: Bao Cheng Branch name: DE JI Artisan silversmith mark: Fang (?) A magnificent, fine and impressive, large antique Edwardian English sterling silver cup & cover; an addition to our antique presentation silverware collection. This magnificent and large antique Edwardian sterling silver presentation cup and cover has a Campania shaped form onto a circular spreading pedestal foot. The lower bulbous portion of the silver cup is encircled with chased fluted ornamentation. Either side of the plain upper portion of the body of this cup is embellished with an exceptional and large applied ribbon tied laurel branch wreath, replicating the border of a classic cartouche. This impressive Edwardian presentation cup retains the impressive, original hallmarked push fit cover surmounted with an exceptional, fine and impressive cast sterling silver overlapping leaf and bud style finial. The rim of this substantial cover is encompassed with an impressive applied egg and dart decorated border. This antique cup and cover is fitted with two very impressive cast sterling silver handles modelled in the form of conjoined snakes, above a figural mask and Caduceus. The pedestal is encompassed with a shaped alternating leaf decorated knop to the upper portion in junction with the body. The circular domed spreading foot is encircled with a further band of chased fluted ornamentation. Such large examples are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
