Antique French Jardiniere From Nevers, France 1800's
About the Item
The motifs are cartouches with center medallions of different scenes of putti and cherubs at play in an outdoor setting. The oblong cartouche is surrounded by pierced acanthus leaves on either side and stylized shells at the base. Scrollng elongated acanthus leaves , c-scrolls, and beading surround the scene. To either side of the cartouche are fielded panels of blue dots on a white background surrounded by the same motifs of the cartouche.
