Barovier & Tosso Style Murano white glass Try Italy bronze Scene
About the Item
One of a kind and Iconic vanity tray with handles; The rectangular body is a mirror with rounded corners and has been carved from the stone wheel on top by depicting a courtship scene showing a court couple dressed in all their elegant clothing in a formal landscape or garden with architectural elements that create a complete and vivid image; The top edge of the mirror is decorated with a glass rope twisted into itself; The handles are made of excellent fusion of gilded bronze, the handles, always with the twisted rope pattern, have gold dust on the inside; A wooden lid covers the bottom. This product, typical of the Venetian tradition, was made by hand between 1950 and 1955 using the ancient Murano production techniques passed down for generations; The artisans are inspired by the models created by Barovier & Toso, a Murano glass factory in Venice whose activity began in the mid-12th century and is one of the oldest companies in the world that still produces pieces of extraordinary craftsmanship and beauty. For this reason it has always been an example and a reference model for all Murano production. Our tray represents a high expression of the craftsmanship and manual skill of master glassmakers, a unique and refined work of art characterized by a complex hand-made workmanship that certainly fascinates and amazes us.
