Charming elephant, jardiniere vase ceramic Art Deco 1920s, E Eichler Royal Dux
About the Item
This charming vase, jardiniere, is a work by the famous Bohemian company Royal Dux, made of porcelain, in Art Deco carried out in the 1920s.
The object is of elaborate design, the shape - typical of Art Deco objects - shows a diamond-shaped base and a triangular shaft that forms the upper basic shape. On the base stands a wonderfull elaborately made elephant. The whole vase body is hand painted in dark blue and gold geometrical elements. You can use it as a jardiniere, as well as a vase.
The object is marked on the bottom with Royal Dux, as well as Eduard Eichler, a very famous artist.
Measurements approx.: height 6,50 in – 16,5 cm, width 9,25 in – 23,5 cm, depth 4,53 in – 11,5 cm.
Due to the exceptionally rare design of the object and the jardiniere / vase is an exciting eye-catcher.

Royal Dux
Royal Dux is a porcelain company based in the Czech Republic that manufactures figurines, vases and other ceramics and objects in neoclassical and Art Nouveau styles. Some of the company’s most popular pieces include the Bohemia centerpiece as well as their Elephant figurine.
A member of the Czech Porcelain Group, Roya Dux has produced its brand of figural and decorative porcelain works since 1853. Model expert Eduard Eichler established the company in Duchov, Bohemia, in 1860 and ran Royal Dux Bohemia until his death in 1887, recreating historical designs from England, Denmark and France. At the start of the 20th century, the company enjoyed remarkable success thanks to the works of the designer Alois Hampel.
Royal Dux porcelain pieces are designated by their trademark pink triangle, which serves as a certificate of authentication. The company enjoyed a renaissance in 1958 owing to the display of Jaroslav Ježek’s collection at the world exhibition in Brussels that year.
In 1992, the Duchov factory rebranded itself as Royal Dux.
