French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Porcelain And Ormolu Centerpiece Set
About the Item
An elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. Porcelain and Ormolu candelabra and centerpiece set, signed Cardeilhac Paris. The set of three is made of three Porcelain baskets with two of the baskets containing three armed Ormolu candelabras decorated by acanthus leaves. Each arm is decorated with acanthus leaves with circular beaded edge bobeches with spiral fluted designs. Each teal and white colored pierced basket is supported on an octagonal Ormolu base decorated with mottled edges and flowing bowed ribbons. On both ends of each basket are rectangular handles with wrap around teal colored spiral designs.

The oval centerpiece in amber patinated bronze, ormolu and onyx
rests on a rectangular flanged bronze base topped with an onyx slab. Charming cherubs, draped in flowing garments, grace each side, kneeling on onyx bases with floral gilt reserves, and holding the oblong-shaped patinated bronze bowl.
