About the Item
A beautiful and high quality French mid-19th century Louis XVI st. Baccarat crystal and ormolu centerpiece coffret inscribed BREVETE SGDG. The large scale box is raised by charming ormolu feet with a unique foliate, tied bamboo and ball design below a wrap around bamboo designed ormolu band. At the center is a scrolled ormolu plate with an etched and hammered design where the key is inserted to lock the centerpiece. Fine ormolu bamboo handles flank the striking cut Baccarat crystal bowl. Hinged above is a dome shaped cut crystal lid with an impressive and richly chased ormolu final and foliate movements. Rich satin and burnished finish.
