About the Item

This large antique glazed Amphora pottery centerpiece bears no maker's signature, but is presumed to have originated from Austria and dating to approximately 1890 and done in the period Art Nouveau style. The centerpiece depicts three topless or semi-nude maidens or sea nymphs with flowing skirts and hair, leaning against a raised platform decorated with flowers. The centerpiece is hand-painted in muted pastel tones with considerable details to the bodies and dresses.
