About the Item

A very large ornate French jardinière Napoleon III period, painted in the 18th century style'' en grisalle'' with putti or cherubs re -enacting mythological scenes. The top part of the jardinière is hand-painted to resemble cloissone. The base is very fine ormolu, with cast men’s head sat the corners and traditional 18th century panels in the middle.
