About the Item

Beautifully painted and impressive scale Staffordshire group of a hunter riding back from the hunt with his quarry, a stag draped over the horse. The overall white glaze, except for the face of the rider, is a wonderful effect, with gilt highlights throughout. The contrast of the staid face of the rider with the exaggerated, large eyed face of horse makes this piece both charming and amusing. Measures: 14 inches high by 10 wide.
