About the Item

A beautiful Art Nouveau majolica plate with basketweave texture and blackberry and cherry fruits. This antique piece was created in the 1900s in Germany. It is round and features a basket weave texture on the front of the plate. The pattern is glazed in a blue green (verdigris?) color. On top of the basketweave, are raised blackberries, cherries, and green foliage. The sides of the dish turn up slightly. This decorative plate can be used to hang on a wall with a plate hanger (please let us know, and we can supply one free of charge) along with a grouping of other similar color majolica, or it can be used at a place setting. We've even seen them used at a dressing table or cocktail table as a trinket dish or vide poche. The underside is stamped with: GZEUS BADEN 2230 Diameter: 9.25" Diameter 1.25" Deep
