About the Item
Two delightful English Art Deco pottery novelty dog figures with glass eyes made by Fielding’s and Crown Devon and dating from the 1930’s. The small figures portray two small puppy dogs both seated and both looking longingly with their heads held to one side. The Fielding’s dog has a long head with long ears and is hand painted in tones of brown and black on a cream ground and is fitted with two small amber and black glass eyes. The Crown Devon dog has a more rounded face with hanging ears and is decorated in turquoise glazes with pale brown markings. The dog has molded facial features and again has two amber and black glass eyes. Both figures have markings to the bases.
