Ceramic Tray with Metal Montage and Oriental Motive from the 1920s
About the Item
This tray was produce by the ceramic manufacture Jílové near Decín in the Czech Republic.
Production started after 1918 and continued through the 1920s.
The Jugendstil metal montage is chrome-plated and holds the ceramic plate securely in place.
The plate exhibits an oriental motive made in Spritztechnik, which was popular at this time in German speaking countries.
The motive shows a romantic view of an Arabic town in strong colors.
I personally have fallen in love with theses trays and have collected then over the last 15 years in different motives.
They look great having on the wall presented as a picture.
The metal montage has some rust, the ceramic is in very good condition.
