Mid-Century Modern Ceramic Gazelle Salt and Pepper Shakers, a Pair

About the Item

A pair of vintage Mid-Century Modern gazelle or antelope motif ceramic salt and pepper shakers. This pair is created from ceramic and glazed in beautiful brown, black and pale green paint. The craquelure throughout adds a very vintage feel. They are hand-painted. Each shaker features a galloping deer in brown. Each piece shows the animal facing in opposite directions. Large pale green globes sit behind each animal and have four and five holes at the top for salt and pepper. At the bottom stylized green foliage in deep verdigris, give the illusion that the antelope or gazelle are jumping across a patch of grass. A small silver sticker is affixed to one of the pieces which read: "Thames, Hand Painted, Japan" Dimensions: 2" Deep 3" Tall 2.75" Wide.
