About the Item

A very unsual midcentury handcrafted stoneware sculpture of a nude with fruit sat in an arbor attributed to renowned artist and writer Quentin Bell (British, 1910-1996). The stoneware figure is heavily made and portrays the nude figure of a lady sat within an arbor with a veil draped over her head and hanging freely over her arms. The veil is gathered in her lap and covered with fruit with further fruit lying around her and on the ground and covering her feet.
